Fun but boring

Some good people to work with and some solid supervisors. Apparatus are constantly breaking down and many don’t feel safe. You will rarely use your EMT skills, even on the ALS calls. Pay is decent, but hours can be insane.

Trying to find the footing in Upstate

Large call volume. Staffing is a constant struggle. Turnover is very high. Benefits are almost non existent. Insurance is through a brokerage and they give you a stipend that doesn’t go very far.

Honestly liked working.

Only complaints are the night call volume is outrageous, not enough pay (but thats an emt industry problem), and the rotating schedule. Loved the people and the work. Learned a lot. Great experience. Would have kept going if I could.
