Job Title: Account Manager (Open to Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Candidates)
Location: Haymarket, VA (Hybrid options available)
Position Type: Full Time
Compensation: $45,000-$75,000
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Account Manager to serve as the critical operational bridge between our high-volume production home builders and our internal production teams. In this role, your primary focus will be managing the pre-construction phase by compiling comprehensive bid packages, reviewing architectural specifications, and driving the contract review process.
We welcome both rising talent and seasoned professionals. If you are new to the industry, we provide the training and mentorship needed to master our blueprints and manufacturing processes. For seasoned professionals, we provide the autonomy to manage large-scale builder accounts and make an immediate impact on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Package & Estimation Management: Compile, review, and submit precise project bid packages for residential builders. Calculating material take-offs based on architectural plans.
- Plan & Specification Review: Analyze blueprints, architectural drawings, and structural specifications to identify millwork layout requirements and catch framing or design conflicts before production.
- RFI Processing: Draft, submit, and track Requests for Information (RFIs) to builders and architects to clarify missing or ambiguous design details, mitigating financial and scheduling risks.
- Scope of Work & Contract Compliance: Review and cross-reference builder contracts, purchase orders, and Scopes of Work (SOW). Ensure pricing, installation terms, and product applications match our submittals before formal sign-off.
- Cross-Functional Operations Coordination: Collaborate directly with field installation teams, corporate purchasing agents, and internal manufacturing departments to ensure projects run smoothly.
Level-Specific Expectations
- If you are applying as an Entry-Level/Associate Candidate: You will start by supporting established account managers, learning how to read specialized construction blueprints, mastering material take-offs, and gradually taking ownership of your own builder communities as your technical expertise grows.
- If you are applying as an Experienced/Senior Candidate: You will learn our system and processes but immediately step into managing our highest-volume production builder accounts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Open to all experience levels. Previous experience in construction estimating, project coordination, or residential home building is a significant plus, but a strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read or learn to read residential architectural blueprints, structural plans, and builder specification books.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, estimation tracking, and basic analysis.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly translate project details between corporate builder clients, field crews, and manufacturing teams.
- Detail Orientation: Elite organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple bidding deadlines and project schedules simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working specifically with high-volume production builders in the Mid-Atlantic market.
- Deep knowledge of residential and commercial building codes related to stair and rail compliance.
