Full job description
Allocortech is a small, Virginia-based company that provides industry leading electric vehicle technology and products, as well as vehicle systems engineering services, mainly targeted at UAS and UAM aircraft developments. Nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, we are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a diverse set of skills and background to help grow our client base and develop corporate infrastructure to scale into supporting full product lifecycle offerings. In this role, you will work side-by-side with an elite engineering team that spans diverse experiences and expertise across safety critical aviation, rail, robotics and medical industries to create robust, but cost effective, electronic subsystems.
This position will focus on tactical activities such as generating execution schedules, maintaining relationships with our customers, and working closely with the engineering staff to work through technical issues, remove hurdles, and establish and maintain our technological product road-maps. The candidate will also help shape the strategic path to develop and grow business processes to streamline bid and proposal efforts as well as the tracking of earned value.
This position would report directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- A solid working knowledge of electronics/avionics product development and integration activities.
- Develop, plan, and track project execution using standard methodology and scheduling tools such as MSProject, Smartsheets, or equivalent.
- Ensure project execution teams meet technical and programmatic milestones on time and within budget.
- Experience generating or supporting engineering development bids and estimates for electronic products and systems.
- Track, analyze, and report on expenditures as required to understand program status and financial performance.
- The ability to recognize scope changes coming from engineering or the end customer.
- Create resource management plans to support project execution as well as project company growth and hiring demands.
Qualifications:
- Proven project management skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Technical knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes that utilize mechanical, electrical and software engineering expertise.
- Proficient with Google Workspace, Gantt charting, cloud-based project management applications and related tools and technologies.
- 5+ years of managerial experience in technical or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Program management certification ie. Project Management Professional (PmP), Agile scrum master, six sigma green belt, or equivalent is desired.
