· Work with cross‑functional teams to communicate and implement design changes that improve quality, cost, reliability, or manufacturability.

· Manage component obsolescence by qualifying replacement parts, validating alternates, and ensuring functional compatibility with suppliers.

Build, Test, & Verification

· Develop test plans and verification methods for redesigns or component updates.

· Validate that changes maintain or improve product performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

· Identify opportunities for cost reduction, component standardization, and design simplification.

· Improve manufacturability (DFM) and serviceability (DFS) for existing product lines.

· Support ongoing process improvement within the engineering team.

· Provide rapid engineering support for manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and field service teams, including production line issue resolution.

Documentation Control

· Maintain accurate engineering data, including CAD models, drawings, wiring diagrams, and product configurations.

· Ensure design intent is accurately captured and maintained within CAD, PLM, and ERP systems.

Reliability, Safety & Compliance

· Perform FMEA, stress analysis, thermal reviews, tolerance analysis, or other engineering evaluations as needed.

· Verify that products remain compliant with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
