LendingPad is a fast-growing Loan Origination System (LOS) built for the modern mortgage institution. The suite of products include a point of sale (POS), compliance engine, document solution, API, and other mortgage-origination related products. Our goal is to provide a scalable, efficient, and compliant software solution to meet the needs of today’s demands.

Job Description:

Join a fast-growing fintech provider in lending as a Senior UI/UX Engineer working closely with requirement analysts and operations teams to develop, test, and support a mortgage lending application. You will be required to complete assigned tasks in a fast-paced, agile environment. This is a full-time position.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with UI/UX.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS (SASS)
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript
  • Understanding of modern layout techniques (Flexbox, CSS Grid)
  • Understanding and practical experience with BEM (Block Element Modifier) methodology
  • Experience in building responsive, cross-browser compatible layouts
  • Ability to work with SVG graphics (optimization, editing, integration)
  • Experience converting SVG icons into web fonts (icon fonts generation)
  • Experience working with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles
  • Ability to translate design mockups into clean, maintainable code
  • Attention to detail and pixel-perfect implementation
  • Be able to accept other’s point of view even if it is different from his/her own
  • Demonstrated focus and attention to details
  • Constantly analyze and remember the solutions that were applied to previous issues
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong work ethics, a passion for excellence and a desire to continuously learning/improving your skills are a must.

**Candidate will be given a sample task to complete to demonstrate the skills and knowledge.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Duties:

UI / Layout & Markup

  • Maintain and improve existing layouts (HTML structure refinement)
  • Update and enhance current UI components
  • Build responsive and adaptive layouts for different screen sizes
  • Follow and enforce consistent markup standards

Theming & Design System

  • Work with a custom-built theming system (no reliance on system/browser themes)
  • Configure and manage color schemes across the application
  • Maintain consistency of colors, typography, and visual elements
  • Implement new themes and support existing ones
  • Ensure correct application of themes across all UI components
  • Refactor styles to support scalable and flexible theming
  • Work with design tokens (colors, spacing, typography variables)

Styling & CSS Architecture

  • Review and refactor existing CSS/SCSS codebase
  • Maintain and improve styling consistency across the project
  • Optimize styles for performance and maintainability

Fonts & Icons

  • Convert SVG assets into font icons
  • Handle SVG optimization and compatibility issues
  • Maintain and extend icon font libraries
  • Ensure cross-browser rendering consistency for fonts/icons

Components & Widgets

  • Develop new UI widgets and reusable components
  • Support and improve existing components
  • Ensure components are scalable and maintainable
  • Work with dynamic UI elements and state-driven rendering

Assets & Media

  • Optimize images for web (compression, formats, responsiveness)
  • Work with SVGs, icons, and other graphical assets
  • Ensure proper loading strategies (lazy loading, etc.)

Code Quality & Maintenance

  • Refactor legacy code for better structure and readability
  • Identify and fix UI/UX inconsistencies

Performance Optimization

  • Reduce unnecessary DOM manipulations
  • Optimize CSS and JavaScript bundles

Schedule:

  • Onsite at our McLean office Monday – Thursday, Remote on Fridays
