About the Role

We are looking for a gifted writer and high-impact comms strategist to set direction and provide hands-on support for executive-level storytelling, primarily through social media. Reporting directly to Uber's head of corporate communications, this person will partner closely with members of our executive leadership team and their staff, as well as comms and social media leads across the company, to identify the best moments and channels for leaders to go direct." They will build content calendars, issues platforms, and channel strategies, helping to sharpen each leader's distinct voice.

About the Team

The most successful technology companies are forward-thinking storytellers who can effectively engage business, technical, and consumer audiences alike to illustrate the magic behind-and the benefits of-their products.

Our team is responsible for telling Uber's story, whether it's transforming how we get around and supporting the lives of people who value independent, flexible work; helping reduce congestion in cities and complement public transportation; or empowering local commerce through our delivery offerings. This work is about building deep relationships with key journalists and opinion leaders, and partnering across the company to create campaigns that tell our story in new and effective ways.

What You'll Do
  • Work directly with executive leaders and their teams to identify the issues, moments, and perspectives that matter most-for them personally and for Uber's business.
  • Devise tailored platform and channel strategies that harness each leader's unique voice, setting them up for even greater impact.
  • Define success metrics, create reporting cadences, and iterate based on performance and broader objectives.
  • Support real-time social decision-making during fast-moving news moments, including escalation pathways and coordination with policy/legal when needed.
  • Shoot, edit, and create original content (both videos and graphics).
  • Attend events and help capture content during key company moments.
  • Provide broader executive communications support as needed, including presentation development, speechwriting, and other high-impact writing across the team.
Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of proven experience in a fast-paced corporate, agency, or political environment, supporting notable personalities or world-changing brands.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Impeccable writing and editing skills, with strong judgment, a high bar for quality, and the ability to seamlessly switch between thought leadership, product narratives, culture/talent storytelling, and stakeholder comms-without losing authenticity.
  • Creativity and strong visual instincts, with comfort translating ideas into compelling, platform-native content.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while staying focused on long-term goals.
  • Proven experience building relationships and influencing cross-functionally, particularly with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of news cycles, reputation management, and emerging trends in social and new media.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Managed candidate social media for a major political campaign.
  • You are an outstanding video shooter and editor with an eye for graphic design, proficient in Adobe Premiere or CapCut for video editing, and Canva or Photoshop for graphic creation.
