Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Personal Trainer combined with approx. 4-6 hours per week in the role as the Gym Studio Manager to lead our fitness facility. We have a preference for female candidates due to the comfort needs of our clientele.

This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience while working as a personal trainer. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive management experience, and a passion for health and fitness. This person will be responsible for driving sales, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a motivating environment for clients and staff alike.

Responsibilities

  • Mainly work approximately 35 hours per week as a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer with clients mostly over age 40. Must have 2 + years' experience as a corrective exercise personal trainer and understand the older population.
  • Lead and supervise gym and staff, including personal trainers and instructors ensuring high performance and excellent customer service
  • Develop and implement training programs, sales strategies, and marketing initiatives to increase membership and revenue
  • Oversee daily operations including scheduling, shift management, and ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Manage inventory control, equipment maintenance, and purchasing to ensure the gym is well-stocked and operational
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and maintain positive client relationships through effective communication skills
  • Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes for new team members
  • Manage payroll, bookkeeping, cash handling, POS transactions, and retail sales activities
  • Monitor retail sales performance including pricing strategies, merchandising, stocking, and promotional activities
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to attract new members and retain existing clients through various channels
  • Oversee budgeting processes and ensure operational expenses align with financial goals
  • Maintain organized records of all administrative functions including inventory management and sales reports
  • Proven management experience in a fitness or retail environment with supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong background in sales management, team management, and customer service excellence
  • Experience with employee orientation, training & development programs, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, inventory management, POS systems, purchasing procedures, and retail math
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive team environment
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities considered a plus
  • Prior experience in marketing or promotional activities within a health or fitness setting preferred
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial management within a retail or service environment

PERSONAL TRAINING: 30-35 hours per week with personal and small group trainings. Commission based. After 90 day period, and based on performance clientele may be provided at up to 45% commission base.

GYM STUDIO MANAGEMENT: 5-10 hours per week managing, promoting, cleaning, and preparing studio. Hourly pay of $20.00 per hour.
