Full job description

The Ashville and Circleville Apothecaries are looking for a personable and motivated full-time pharmacist to work in our family owned independent pharmacies, located thirty minutes south of Columbus, Ohio. Staff Pharmacists are required to be positive, leader driven, and able to handle the stress of working in a retail environment. Our pharmacists not only do traditional prescription dispensing but engage in immunization services, medication therapy management, and non-sterile compounding

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and medication management. In this vital role, you will oversee pharmacy operations, ensure accurate dispensing of medications, and collaborate closely with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes. Your expertise in clinical pharmacy, medication safety, and patient service will drive our mission to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced hospital or clinical setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills in a supportive environment that values innovation, professionalism, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately while adhering to all regulatory guidelines and hospital policies
  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including medication reviews and therapy recommendations
  • Collaborate with medical teams on complex cases such as pain management, critical care, pediatrics, and LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy needs
  • Administer immunizations and perform medication administration procedures following aseptic techniques and safety protocols
  • Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, including compounding medications and maintaining stock levels for IV infusions and other critical therapies
  • Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient interactions and medication records
  • Conduct patient education on medication use, potential side effects, and medical terminology to promote understanding and adherence
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy during all pharmacy operations
  • Assist with pharmacy technician supervision, training, and workflow coordination in a busy hospital environment
  • Support medical management initiatives by staying informed about physiology knowledge, anatomy, and recent advances in clinical pharmacy practices

Qualifications

  • Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant state or country
  • Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care settings, or hospital environments is highly preferred
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience is strongly desirable
  • Demonstrated expertise in patient service, patient assessment, and medication therapy management
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools
  • Knowledge of medical management principles related to pediatrics, pain management, acute care, and immunizations
  • Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures
  • Experience working with pharmacy technicians in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to patient care and safety

Join us as a Staff Pharmacist where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that supports your professional growth while providing exceptional healthcare services.
