Behavior Technician – Full-Time Hourly Position

$1,000 Signing Bonus | $22–$23/hour, Depending on Experience | Community-Based Autism Services

Join a passionate team transforming the lives of adolescents with autism through meaningful, community-based therapy. At The Estuary Center, a nonprofit located in Southwest Portland, we’re proud to offer full-day therapeutic services grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with a modern, dignity-centered approach. We’re looking for dedicated individuals to grow with us as full-time hourly Behavior Technicians—with guaranteed 39 hours of work per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement ABA programming as directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Ensure safety and well-being of assigned client(s) during 1:1 and small group sessions
  • Provide support in both clinical and community environments
  • Accurately collect data, complete session notes, and communicate regularly with supervising BCBAs
  • Maintain state registration as an Oregon Behavior Analysis Interventionist and follow all related requirements
  • Keep workspaces clean, safe, and in line with CDC hygiene guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree requirred
  • Experience with children/adolescents or individuals with special needs
  • Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (1+ years required)
  • Reliable, responsive to feedback, and skilled in engagement, time management, and communication
  • Able to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Able to complete Oregon registration requirements, including 40-hour online training
  • Experience with data collection and session note documentation

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Physically active: must be able to walk, run, bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor or furniture for extended periods

Required Before Independent Work

  • Read and understand Staff Handbook
  • Complete Oregon Behavior Analysis Interventionist registration
  • Demonstrate understanding of ASD, ABA principles, data collection, and intervention
  • Pass background clearance
  • Complete QBS Safety-Care crisis training
  • Provide proof of valid driver’s license and CPR certification
