Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant provides comprehensive support to the Accounting Department and the Accounting/HR Manager. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including processing accounts payable and receivable, performing essential administrative and clerical duties, assisting with customer invoicing and collections, maintaining accurate records, and supporting office operations. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a professional office environment.
Essential Functions:
- Process vendor invoices and purchase orders
- Assist with the preparation of the weekly check run
- Assist with preparation of time sheets for bi-weekly payroll
- Process and apply check payments to customer accounts
- Create down payment invoices and distribute to the customer base
- Assist with bi-monthly invoicing to the customer base
- Assist with investigating customer invoice inquiries
- Maintain and track accounts receivable summary reports
- Assist in the collection process for past due customer accounts
- Drive on company time to perform accounting and admin errands
Additional Functions:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
- File documents and maintain the organization of accounting records
- Coordinate monthly print advertisements and update the exterior sign
- Monitor and maintain office supply inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Minimum of one year of experience in accounting is preferred
- Satisfactory post-offer drug screen and background check results
- Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and be eligible to drive on behalf of the company
Compensation:
- The pay rate is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
