Overview:

Gulf Coast Social Services is seeking an Administrative Assistant in our New Orleans Regional office. The Administrative Assistant will act as the point of contact for Regional staff and perform tasks such as answering the multi-line telephone system, providing general information for visitors, and welcoming clients & employees. The Administrative Assistant will also provide support to our Metairie office, including but not limited to billing, filing, data entry, disseminating mail, maintaining office supplies, and copying. This position also onboard new hires and coordinates employee training. Other tasks include onboarding new hires, scheduling training, assisting with processing payroll, maintaining client records, electronic filing, submitting monthly expense reports, and other assigned duties. This position occasionally requires you to run short errands. A pleasant and energetic demeanor is a MUST for this position to maintain a professional, fun, and welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications and Skills:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must possess proficient computer skills, (MS Office) and a general understanding of general administrative office duties, good verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to represent the Agency in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities accurately and show attention to detail while developing and maintaining positive relationships is also required. A minimum of two years of clerical work experience is required.

This position also requires a valid driver’s license per Louisiana law, current liability insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating conditions with a current registration and inspection sticker.
