Assistant Teacher / Floater

Hosanna Farm Child Care – Alexandria, TN

Hosanna Farm Child Care is seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher / Floater to join our classroom team. This role supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children are cared for with patience, warmth, and attentiveness.

We are a growing center and currently require both full time and part time roles to be filled. These are a combination of Lead and Assistant teacher roles.

Assistant Teachers are an essential part of our classroom teams, providing steady support to the Lead Teacher while helping maintain smooth classroom flow and attentive care for children.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in daily routines and care
  • Help maintain a calm, predictable classroom environment
  • Prepare materials and support activities
  • Assist with feeding, diapering, and care routines
  • Supervise children closely and ensure safe care at all times

Child Engagement

  • Build trusting relationships with infants
  • Support social-emotional development through nurturing interactions
  • Encourage exploration, curiosity, and developmental play

Health & Safety

  • Maintain safe supervision and proper ratios
  • Follow health, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing classroom spaces
  • Communicate any concerns promptly to the Lead Teacher or Director

Team Support

  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff
  • Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
  • Step in to support other classrooms when needed

Qualifications

  • Must meet Tennessee DHS requirements for Assistant Teacher/Aide
  • Experience working with infants or young children preferred
  • CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Clear background check and fingerprinting required
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors
  • Patient, warm, reliable, and positive attitude
  • A love for children and nature-based learning

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
