Job Summary
Code Four is seeking skilled AVL Technicians Audio, Video, or Lighting to join our team. This role involves supporting live events in venues such as concert halls, sports arenas, conference centers, and educational institutions. Depending on skillset, technicians will serve as:

  • A1 / Audio-focused AVL Tech (can step into A2 or A1 roles depending on event size)
  • V1 / Video-focused AVL Tech (can step into V2 or V1 roles depending on event size)
  • Lighting-focused AVL Tech (can step into L2 or L1 roles depending on event size)

Our AVL Technicians are responsible for ensuring that all audio, video, and lighting systems are set up, operated, and maintained to deliver flawless event experiences.

Duties

  • Collaborate with clients and event staff to determine AV/lighting needs
  • Transport, set up, connect, and operate AVL equipment for live events
  • Test and troubleshoot systems to ensure signal strength and equipment performance
  • Operate AVL systems during live performances, presentations, and conferences
  • Maintain, clean, and repair AVL equipment as needed
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing equipment for functionality and quality
  • Install permanent AV systems in offices, classrooms, or other facilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory, service, and maintenance records
  • Provide technical assistance and support to clients and team members

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Audio, Video, and Lighting equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Audio, Video, and Lighting equipment
  • Ability to read/interpret diagrams and schedules
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort with technology and troubleshooting under pressure
  • Ability to track inventory and maintain detailed reports

General Knowledge Required

  • Audio, video, and lighting systems
  • Basic rigging, power distribution, and networking principles
  • Ubiquiti networking equipment
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Lighting

  • ETC / Road Hog patching
  • MA3 patching

  • Lighting power distribution

Experience & Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in AVL production
  • 5+ years experience strongly preferred
  • Lead or management experience a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • $28 – $45/hour, based on experience and specialization
