Job Title: Building Materials Specialist (BMS)
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-time
Job Location: Warehouse/Yard
Job Overview: Building Materials Specialist will possess a strong understanding of building materials, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping customers find the right solutions for their projects. Assist in cleaning facilities, performing basic repairs, and always providing exceptional customer service. BMS will also ensure that the facility is used in accordance with policies and procedures.
Hierarchy: BMS reports indirectly to the SBMS and directly to the store manager or owners if the store manager is off duty.
Key Responsibilities/Procedures (duties may vary day to day):
- Customer Assistance: Greet customers and assess their needs, providing expert advice on building materials, tools, and supplies. Load/un-load materials as needed and use the upmost care ensuring you do not damage their property or QBS.
- Verify Invoices: Make sure all invoices are correct and paid. Verify the person who is picking up the items are, in fact, the correct people per sales team (Sales up front will inform you via walkies)
- Customer Deliveries: Confirm all deliveries all delivery details (phone, address, contact information, driving directions, access codes, etc.) with the customer. Only approved employees can drive QBS vehicles.
- Heavy Lifting: Safely when required.
- Heavy Equipment: Only trained employees are allowed to operate the heavy equipment. Do not operate any equipment you are not allowed to or trained to operate.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the several types of building materials, including lumber, concrete, or any other materials QBS stock in the yard.
- Inventory Management: When there are no customers in the yard to assist with inventory control, including stock replenishment, organization, and pricing of building materials.
- Project Guidance: Offer guidance to customers on selecting the appropriate materials for their specific projects, including residential and commercial applications.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance product knowledge and improve customer service skills. YouTube is a free resource to learn about products.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for employees and customers. JOB REQUIRES WORK BOOTS.
- Overtime: When approved/required by management.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
