Mill Tube Bundler - Meadville, PA
Pay: Starting at $20/Hour
Shift: 1st shift Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Friday OT required 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 4:00 PM
Job Description: The mill bundler’s duties are to package tubes in a proper dimensions and quantity. Other responsibilities are ensuring that the correct labels are on each bundle. Make sure that all tubes have been visually inspected for defects and surface quality, and the end quality is conforming. In cases of non-conforming or poor quality it is the bundlers’ responsibility is to immediately notify mill operator and/or mill cut off operator. Bundler is also required to keep the floor free of coolant and other material.
Essential Duties:
- Banding and straitening steel tube bundles for shipment
- Work directly with supervisor on job set ups, piece counts and assist with changeovers
- Maintain and wear all safety equipment as provided
- Read Work Instructions and procedures
- Understand packaging requirements
- Ensure that the banding is on correctly and the proper tension so as to keep bundles from breaking apart
- Ensure proper tags are placed on bundles
- Check the quality of finished tube
- Understand set-up charts and roll locations
- Knowledge of cut off directions
- Off line de-dimpling and de-scarfing
- Segregate scrap
- Set racks into place for next bundle
- Help with changeovers
- Maintain and wear all safety equipment provided
- Work with other members of the mill crew on housekeeping and safety
- Ensure bucks, tables, and de-dimpler is ready by the time the mill operator is ready to run
- Keep floor clean of scrap and coolant
- Before end of shift have the scrap bundled
Minimum Requirements:
- Be able to stand on cement surfaces for extended amounts of time
- Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, and bend
- Must be able to lift tooling, equipment, and finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather
- Steel-Toed boots are required
- Ability to use caliper micrometers
- Ability to read work instructions, procedures and measuring devices.
- Mechanical Saw and/or Welding experience a plus
- Machine Operator/Manufacturing experience necessary.
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Have quality inspection experience
- Must be able to weld (TIG, WIG, or STICK)
- Must be able to drive a fork truck
- Experience loading & unload trucks with skids/boxes, long pipe & tubes
- CNC experience
- Lathe experience
- Shipping and Receiving experience
