New June Bakery is a small women owned micro & online bakery in Philadelphia, PA. We offer a seasonal selection of uniquely designed cakes & pastries that are not only beautiful, but delicious too.

New June’s cakes, and their fresh take on sheet cakes in particular, have been featured in the New York Times T Magazine, on Good Morning America, and Architectural Digest, among many others. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Cake Decorator to join our 6-person team.

The ideal candidate for this position has at least 1-2 years experience in a professional kitchen setting assembling, coloring and fully decorating cakes.

As a cake decorator, candidate should have extensive experience assembling and frosting cakes; as well as familiarity and practice with detailed piping, tiered cake assembly *bonus but not required*, palate painted floral techniques and general skill at curating artistic design composition. Candidate will be asked to provide work samples as well as perform a paid stage to demonstrate skill.

A successful candidate will be expected to have great time management, be VERY detail oriented, flexible and adaptable to a fast paced and ever evolving order and fulfillment schedule.

We are an all-female, passionate team of bakers & artists, we have fun, sing out loud, and eat A LOT of cake scraps :-)

Responsibilities:

• Assembling cakes;
• Design: exterior frosting, cake coloring, pressed flower application, painted & abstract floral design, vintage piping styles, cake writing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Support staff at events: pop ups, classes and more.

Hours:

We are seeking a candidate to work 4-5 days a week, 8 hours shifts, 40 hours total.
