Lead Carpenter

We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to join Ritchie Construction, a locally owned and operated business in Bemidji, MN. We offer a wide array of services for residential building projects. We are known for our quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.
General skills/knowledge required: Hand tools, Power Tools, Framing, Trimming, Roofing, Window installation, Insulating, Decks, Siding, possible forklift driving.

Need to: Work with a team, have attention to detail in all aspects of job, strength and reliable.

The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• Cut and shape lumber and other material according to measurements
• Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
• Lay out walls, flooring, roofing ensuring they are leveled and compatible
• Conduct repairs or maintenance
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures

Skills

• Proven experience as carpenter
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Good knowledge of English
• Good understanding of basic math
• Good physical condition and endurance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: Multiple locations
