ABOUT THE ROLE

Partyman Catering is seeking culinary professionals at a variety of experience levels to join our team. This seasonal role blends both production kitchen responsibilities and event execution, giving you the opportunity to work behind the scenes and onsite at events.

As a chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining organized and safe workspaces, and contributing to smooth, successful event execution. For more experienced candidates, this role may include leading event kitchens, delegating tasks, and mentoring team members.

This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys both preparation and live event execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, event menus, and quality standards
  • Assist with or oversee meal prep including cutting, marinating, seasoning, and portioning
  • Execute events as a lead or supporting chef depending on experience
  • Coordinate with Event Leads, Culinary Team, and service staff to ensure smooth execution
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled workspaces in kitchen and onsite
  • Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Complete event prep, packing, and checklist execution to ensure readiness
  • Support event breakdown, food storage, and post-event cleanup
  • Train and mentor junior team members as needed
  • Contribute ideas to improve operations, efficiency, and overall customer experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in culinary, catering, or hospitality environments preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of culinary or catering experience
  • Experience with off-premise catering or events
  • Leadership or team training experience
  • Culinary education or certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and independently
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with a team member

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Food safety certification preferred

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

  • Schedule varies based on event bookings and seasonality
  • Weekend, evening, and occasional holiday availability required

Peak Season (May–Nov):

  • Full-time: up to 50+ hours (40-hour average goal)
  • Part-time: up to ~32 hours depending on events

Off-Season (Dec–Apr):

  • Limited hours

PAY & BENEFITS

  • $18.00–$22.00/hour based on experience and role level
  • Tips may be available for event work (not guaranteed)
