Tanker Driver Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tanker Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting liquid cargo safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including tanker trucks and tractor-trailers. The Tanker Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tanker trucks to transport liquid cargo to designated locations.
  • Load and unload materials safely, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials when applicable.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo transported.
  • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately for each delivery.
  • Assist with route planning to optimize delivery efficiency.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tanker vehicles.
  • Strong route driving skills with an ability to navigate efficiently across various terrains.
  • Excellent load unloading techniques to ensure cargo safety during transport.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail for maintaining logs and compliance with regulations.
  • Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
