Civil CAD Technician

Munoz Engineering is seeking a Civil CAD Technician for its Corpus Christi office. The Civil CAD Technician will perform redlines and carry out assignments under the supervision of the Civil Designer/Project Manager and will assist in producing civil plans including; paving, drainage, grading, water, wastewater, plan and profile drawings for public/private infrastructure improvements using AutoCAD Civil 3D. A willingness to work in a team environment, following the standards we have in place is a must.

Education

Associates degree in drafting & design preferred but not required

Requirements & Experience

Must have 1-2+ years of Civil drafting experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
High School Diploma
Hold a valid driver’s license

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge and experience with Civil drafting - related experience in Civil site development CAD drafting with an emphasis in Civil 3D (i.e. - designs for street plans, storm drainage, water and wastewater for various commercial and private developments, etc.).
Strong Organizational Skills - Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to manage deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and other team members.
Strong Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing
In house AutoCAD test is required

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for being efficient in picking up redlines of civil plans and knowledgeable regarding drafting requirements for Civil projects assigned.
Responsible for making sure all assigned changes to drawings have been performed.
Responsible for batching plotting sets of drawings and associated documentation.
Ability to follow established CAD standards and utilizing these standards to minimize hours required.
Responsible for reading and researching of documents and information such as: Property Ownership, utilities, platting, zoning & parking requirements using City of Corpus Christi GIS Maps, Unified Development Code (UDC), International Building Code (IBC), etc.
Responsible for documentation, record keeping and filing of projects.
Maintain appropriate company file saving requirements to ensure the ability to reuse files as required.
Will perform other duties as may be assigned by the Civil Designer/Project Manager.
