CNC Machinist – Day Shift

Pearisburg, VA
$25–$31/hour (flexible based on experience, knowledge and setup capability)

About Cogar Manufacturing

Cogar Manufacturing is a family-owned industrial machining and fabrication company established in 1979. We specialize in custom components and heavy industrial equipment for mining, aggregates, material handling, and other demanding industries.

This is not production-line work. Our machinists work on large shafts, housings, structural components, and custom-built parts — every job is different.

We are growing and looking to add a skilled CNC Machinist to our day shift team.

Machines you'll work on:

  • CNC Lathes (up to 120”–200” between centers)
  • CNC Vertical & Horizontal Mills
  • CNC Boring Mill
  • Wire EDM
  • Machine brand (Haas, Mazak, Doosan, Hwacheon, etc.)
  • Control type (Fanuc, Haas control, etc.)

This role is setup-focused — we are looking for machinists who can think through a job, not just load parts.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ years CNC machining experience preferred
  • Strong setup experience on CNC lathes, mills, or boring mills
  • Experience with heavy components or large-part machining is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of tooling selection and fixturing
  • Manual machining experience is beneficial

We will consider candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and proven setup capability, even if experience is not met.
