CNC Machinist - VTL's

About Us: D & S Machine Service, Inc., is a family owned and operated job shop in Luxemburg, WI, specializing in fabrication and machining services for many of our customers throughout North America. We recently completed an expansion that includes several new VTL's and we are looking for quality people to join our team.

Position Overview: We are seeking skilled CNC VTL Machinists to join our team for first and second shifts. The ideal candidates will understand setups, programming, and operating VTL's producing high quality components. Other CNC Machinists without VTL experience will also be considered and trained internally.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNC operator specific to VTL's preferred, but not mandatory. Skilled in G-code programming and FANUC controls. Two-year technical degree preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines according to specifications and job requirements.
• Install and align tools, fixtures, and workpieces with precision to ensure accurate machining.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agency standards, and D & S safety policies.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to write or edit.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with tolerances and specifications.
• Perform in-process checks and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection for wear and damage.
• Maintain detailed records of setups, programs, and inspections results.
• Follow company quality control standards and procedures.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and resolves technical challenges.
• Provide input on design improvements or modifications to enhance manufacturability.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:00pm | 3:00pm - 1:00am, $3.00 second shift premium

(Some overtime available.)

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
