Duties

  • Assist journeyman plumber as needed on installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Learn from experienced plumbers to understand best application practices and plumbing codes.
  • Learn and perform basis plumbing tasks such as cutting, threading and installing piping systems.
  • Basic understanding of layout and installation of plumbing piping systems and equipment.
  • Must be able to digs, backfill and tamp ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers
  • Must be able to take direction
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs +

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of cutting, reaming and soldering copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse groove and thread pipe using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, gaskets, solvent cements, fusing machines, press fittings, grove and pipe-threading machines.
  • Proper use of all safety equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Current Texas Plumbing Apprentice License
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Clean driving record
  • Must complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
  • Must be able to report to work on time and consistently
