Construction Superintendent Job Description
Are you organized, detail-oriented, and interested in new construction? If so, there is an exciting opportunity with TimberCraft Homes that awaits!
We are seeking a construction superintendent to work for our mature, but growing and dynamic company, in the Edmond and Oklahoma City area.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing all phases of the construction of a home from dirtwork to completion of the home.
- Provide guidance and direction to all onsite trades on safety, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.
- Ability to multitask and handle the construction of multiple homes at the same time.
- Schedule inspections to meet the varying safety and compliance requirements throughout the home-building process.
- Walk through houses in production daily to check workmanship and time management of trades on the jobsite.
- Participate in management walkthroughs
- Review construction schedule of all houses in production with the scheduler in order to make any necessary adjustments to the schedule, daily.
- Meet weekly with the construction team to discuss any concerns, ask questions if situations arise, review trades workmanship, etc
- Complete update for the sales team every Friday so they have up to date info of what stage every house is in.
- Complete sales walk throughs at end of construction stage to pass over completed homes to sales.
- Meet home buyers to do pre-construction meetings, frame walk, trim walk, and New Home Orientation.
- Follow up 20 days after to check in with home buyers after they close.
- Ensure that job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every stage of the project.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Mark Systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and google software programs.
- Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and subcontractors.
- Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Work Experience as a superintendent, project manager, etc. in a residential or commercial construction environment.
- Bachelor's in construction services preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Capacity to physically lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven ground
