Position Summary

The Crew Chief / Lead Installer is responsible for leading the on‑site installation of Garage Force concrete coating systems while delivering exceptional workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role oversees the installation crew, manages jobsite workflow, and ensures every project is completed efficiently, professionally, and in full alignment with Garage Force standards. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who takes pride in quality, communicates well with customers, and motivates their team to perform at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

Jobsite Leadership & Crew Management

  • Lead and supervise the installation team through all phases of the coating process
  • Assign tasks, manage workflow, and maintain strong crew productivity
  • Train new installers on proper techniques, safety practices, and equipment operation
  • Foster a positive, professional, and accountable work environment on every jobsite

Surface Preparation & Installation

  • Perform grinding, crack repair, patching, and moisture testing
  • Operate grinders, vacuums, mixing equipment, and hand tools
  • Apply Garage Force coating systems according to manufacturer and franchise standards
  • Ensure proper flake broadcast, scraping, vacuuming, and topcoat application
  • Maintain strict quality control from start to finish

Customer Interaction

  • Greet customers professionally and set clear expectations for the day
  • Explain the installation process and answer questions confidently
  • Provide progress updates throughout the job
  • Conduct a final walkthrough to ensure complete customer satisfaction

Equipment & Material Management

  • Load and unload equipment, materials, and tools daily
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment (grinders, vacuums, trailers, generators)
  • Track material usage and communicate inventory needs
  • Keep the jobsite clean, organized, and safe at all times

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety protocols and PPE requirements
  • Maintain MSDS sheets and proper chemical handling procedures
  • Identify and mitigate jobsite hazards proactively
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and Garage Force safety standards

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record jobsite measurements, material usage, and installation details
  • Capture before/after photos for documentation and marketing
  • Report job completion, issues, or delays to the owner/operations manager
  • Complete daily job logs and quality checklists

Performance Expectations

  • Complete jobs on schedule and within material budget
  • Deliver high‑quality workmanship with minimal callbacks
  • Maintain strong customer satisfaction and generate positive reviews
  • Keep equipment in excellent working condition
  • Lead a safe, efficient, and professional crew

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in coatings, construction, flooring, or related trades
  • Ability to operate grinders, vacuums, and installation tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet all day
  • Comfortable working in garages, warehouses, and outdoor environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with concrete coatings or epoxy systems
  • 2+ years of crew leadership experience
  • Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills
  • Trailer towing experience (15 ft or longer)
  • Knowledge of moisture testing and concrete repair

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and surface prep work
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, and varying outdoor temperatures
  • Ability to work 8–10 hour installation days
  • Occasional weekend or extended‑hour projects
