Job Overview
Summit is a rapidly growing Salesforce consultancy helping organizations transform the way they sell, serve, and operate through technology, data, and innovation. We partner with clients across public and private sectors to implement modern CRM, analytics, and AI capabilities on the Salesforce platform. Our culture blends technical excellence with an “Ohana” mindset, people first, always. As we expand our Data, Analytics & AI services, we are hiring a Data Practice Lead to build and scale this capability from the ground up.

The Data Practice Lead will own the strategy, delivery, and growth of Summit’s Data Practice. This leader will define our data and analytics vision, build high-performing delivery teams, develop service offerings, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive-level clients. This role blends strategy, architecture, delivery leadership, and business development and is ideal for a senior professional who wants to build something meaningful, not just manage it.

Responsibilities

  • Refine and execute Summit’s Data, Analytics & AI roadmap.
  • Establish best practices for data architecture, governance, analytics, and AI delivery.
  • Enhance and Evolve packaged offerings (e.g., Data Strategy, Analytics Modernization, AI Readiness, AI Quickstarts).

Client Advisory & Delivery

  • Serve as the senior data architect and advisor on complex engagements.
  • Lead enterprise-level data initiatives including architecture design and roadmap development.
  • Partner with executives (CIOs, CTOs, CDOs) to guide data-driven transformation.

Team Building & Management

  • Build and mentor a multi-disciplinary team: data architects, analytics consultants, engineers, and AI specialists.
  • Oversee delivery quality, resource planning, and professional development.
  • Establish certification paths and technical training programs.

Go-To-Market & Growth

  • Support sales cycles as a subject matter expert and thought leader.
  • Contribute to proposal development, estimates, and solution design.
  • Produce thought leadership: whitepapers, webinars, events, and internal enablement.

Salesforce Ecosystem Leadership

  • Design and deliver solutions using Salesforce:
  • Data Cloud
  • CRM Analytics / Tableau
  • Einstein AI
  • iPaaS - Mulesoft, Informatica
  • Integration and data orchestration tools
  • Partner with Salesforce on enablement, alliances, and co-selling activities.
  • Establish best practices for data architecture, governance, analytics, and AI delivery.
  • Develop packaged offerings (e.g., Data Strategy, Analytics Modernization, AI Readiness, AI Quickstarts).

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data strategy, analytics, or data engineering leadership.
  • Experience building or leading a data consulting practice or center of excellence.

  • Data modeling
  • Analytics platforms

  • Executive-level client presence and communication skills.
  • Experience in consulting, professional services, or advisory roles.
  • Salesforce data and AI ecosystem experience preferred (Data Cloud, Tableau, Einstein, Heroku, Informatica, Mulesoft, Agentforce).

Preferred Experience

  • Salesforce certifications (Data Cloud, Tableau, Architect tracks)
  • Experience working in public sector or enterprise environments.
  • Cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Proficiency in integration tools (MuleSoft, APIs, ETL platforms).
  • Productized service design and launch experience.
  • Experience managing distributed teams.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

  • Launch formal Data & AI service offerings.
  • Build a core delivery team with hiring and training plans.
  • Establish internal standards and delivery methodology.
