Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Daycare Van Driver to safely transport children to and from daycare facilities. This role requires a dedicated individual with excellent driving skills, strong customer service abilities, and a focus on safety and punctuality. The ideal candidate will have experience in shuttle driving, bus driving, or as a delivery driver, and possess the necessary licenses to operate commercial vehicles. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to our community by ensuring children are transported securely and comfortably.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate daycare vans and other designated vehicles to pick up and drop off children according to scheduled routes
  • Ensure the safety of all children during transit by following traffic laws and safety protocols
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle to ensure optimal operation
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and daycare staff regarding schedules or any transportation issues
  • Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing support as needed
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including licensing requirements for commercial driving or bus driving
  • Keep accurate records of routes, mileage, and any incidents or maintenance needs

Skills

  • Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar roles such as limousine or school bus driving
  • Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements for commercial or passenger vehicles (e.g., <PERSON> driver)
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff effectively
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading supplies or assisting children
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to handle heavy traffic conditions safely and efficiently
  • Good organizational skills for managing schedules and routes reliably
