Design Engineer

SRW Products is currently seeking a Design Engineer – Civil, Geotechnical, Geosynthetics, Structural (or related) to join our team. This position is at the SRW Products headquarters in Princeton, MN.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of design/drafting activities, including preparing and updating drawings and designs for a variety of retaining wall projects
• Perform calculations, read technical reports, and analyze data for design
• Read and comprehend civil construction plans
• Manage design projects and client communications
• Design retaining wall projects varying in size and complexity
• Support SRW Products sales team efforts through education, customer presentations and attendance at trade shows
• Train new hires
• Establish and maintain relationships with the technical departments of the SRW geogrid and geotextile vendors
• Demonstrate a growth mindset and willingness to see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow

• Solid understanding of basic engineering principles, including the ability to perform hand calculations for MSE and block gravity walls

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil, geotechnical, geosynthetics, structural, or related engineering
• Prior experience, or willingness to learn about, working with retaining walls or other earth retention solutions for residential or commercial construction projects
• Prior experience with, or willingness to learn, design software such as: AutoCAD 2D, Vespa, SRWall 5.0, REA, ReSSA+, MSEW, SlopeW
• Occasional travel required, less than 15%

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 50 pounds
• Ability to kneel or squat occasionally
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
