Die Setter - Girard, PA

Pay: $17-$23/Hour depending on experience

Shift: 2nd Shift positions available

Responsibilities:

  • Die setters are responsible to conduct timely die change overs, resulting in the production of product which meets all Quality and Customer requirements. The Die Setter is also responsible to trouble shoot dies and presses. Die Setters are responsible for the maintenance of their own hand tools as required.
  • The Die Setter will also function as a Press Operator, when available, as part of the tPOD responsibilities.
  • It is the responsibility of the employee to continuously meet the requirements of their customers (Internal and External). If the requirements are not achievable, the employee has the responsibility to initiate a specification change through their reporting structure.
  • Perform other work related duties as required by the supervisor or manager.Quantifiable Performance Measurements:
  • Die Set and tPOD operations job knowledge.
  • Compliance with Non-Conforming Product control, identification per company Procedure.
  • Press operation and related production job knowledge.
  • Demonstrates effective team work within the tPOD.
  • Compliance with attendance requirements.
  • Performance Review Expectations.
  • Self-performance evaluations and training needs assessment.
  • Demonstration of product knowledge and terminology.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of TE Procedures and Practices

Experience: It is desired that this individual have experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and opto-comparators. Blureprint reading and Mathematics skills are a plus. A minimum of 1 year experience working with with progressive dies and stamping production presses is preferred. Current employees may be considered for the position, allowing for product knowledge and press operations experience.

Technical knowledge Required:

  • Good Mechanical knowledge, and ability to use measuring equipment.
  • Preferred education is a High School degree or GED.

Personality Strengths:

  • This employee will interact well with others and work with minimual supervision, and be able to follow directions.
  • The individual will have sufficient verbal and written communication skills to relay product conformity concerns, production related concerns and also provide rudimentary guidance related to product quality at the tPOD level..
  • The employee will be able to learn as he performs his job as well as display promise in a classroom setting.
  • The Die Setter will have a strong attention to detail and workmanship.

Health Requirements: Must be in good general health. Good eye sight either natural or through correction is required, being able to identify visual defects.

Corporate Culture: Fast paced, rapidly changing production enviroment.

Work Environment: Noisy high traffic area located on the shop floor. Protective equipment is required.

Teamwork and Interdepartmental Relationships:

  • Direct Interaction with all levels of the Shop Floor and Production Departments.
  • Cross train and support tPOD team position of Press Operator and Die Setter.
