Full job description

About Us

We are a family-owned custom millwork manufacturer specializing in turnkey interior buildouts for national retailers. Every project is unique, which means our success depends on clear communication, adaptability, and teamwork. We’re expanding our leadership team to support growth.

The Role

We’re looking for a Director of Operations to oversee day-to-day across operational teams. This person ensures the team has everything it needs and steps in to resolve issues before they become roadblocks. This person also makes sure long-term schedules and company priorities stay on track, while catching the details that could make or break a project.

Equally important, this role is about people. The Director maintains a strong presence across the business, ensuring communication flows clearly, concerns are addressed constructively, and accountability is reinforced at every level.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead procurement, project management, production, and shipping teams through coaching, daily check ins, and elimination of roadblocks.
  • Be a highly visible and approachable leader, engage with people, and address concerns constructively at all levels.
  • Set frameworks for decision-making and ensure escalations are resolved at the right level.
  • Oversee systems that ensure accurate project documents and information flow to production.
  • Develop and track operations KPIs that align to company goals.
  • Keep the production schedule accurate and aligned with procurement and project milestones.
  • Oversee compliance, safety, capital improvement projects, and scaling capacity.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and adaptability.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of operations management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Comfortable thinking at both the macro and micro level — able to see the whole picture while managing the details that keep projects successful.
  • Understanding of capacity and resource planning.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and shop drawings.
  • Strong technical understanding of how cabinetry, furniture, or millwork is built.
  • Experience in millwork, construction, or related custom “job shop” manufacturing is preferrable.
