Full job description
We are seeking an experienced Dragline Crane Operator to join our team for year-round dredging operations in Southwest Michigan. This position involves operating large cable draglines to dredge material from lakes in active aggregate pit environments.
Cable crane experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right individual with strong heavy equipment experience and a strong mechanical mindset.
Primary equipment:
- Manitowoc 4600 – 140 ft boom, 8-yard bucket
- Northwest 190 – 100 ft boom, 4.5-yard bucket
Loader experience is preferred and operators may be expected to run loaders as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate cable cranes safely and efficiently in dredging operations
- Perform daily greasing and preventative maintenance
- Maintain strong situational awareness of surroundings and crew
- Conduct equipment inspections and report mechanical concerns
- Assist mechanics with repairs as needed
- Follow all company safety standards and procedures
- Maintain production while prioritizing safe operations
- Operate loader when required
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Cable crane experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
- Heavy Equipment experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform daily maintenance responsibilities
- Must pass pre-employment drug and breathalyzer screening
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Strong commitment to safety
Schedule
- Base schedule of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
- Overtime opportunities available

- Starting at $26.00 per hour, depending on experience
