Compass Outreach and Education Center is growing and seeking two exceptional educators to join our innovative microschool team:

• Lead Instructor (Grades K-8)
• Reading/Math Interventionist

We serve approximately 20-25 students daily in a nurturing, small-group environment where educators have the freedom to be creative and make a real impact.

Position 1: Lead Instructor (Grades K-8)

The Lead Instructor will guide the daily classroom experience and serve as the primary academic leader.

Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in a multi-age classroom setting
• Deliver engaging lessons in core subject areas
• Create project-based and experiential learning opportunities
• Foster student curiosity, collaboration, and confidence
• Maintain strong classroom culture and behavior systems
• Supervise support staff and classroom flow
• Communicate regularly with families
• Lead parent conferences
• Track student progress and maintain records
• Participate in school events and team meetings

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong classroom leader
• Creative and flexible thinker
• Experienced with elementary or mixed-grade students
• Passionate about personalized learning

Position 2: Reading/Math Interventionist

The Interventionist will provide targeted support for students needing academic growth in reading and mathematics.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver small-group and one-on-one intervention sessions
• Assess student skill gaps and create support plans
• Provide intensive reading and math instruction
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions
• Support classroom teachers with student strategies
• Conduct screenings and academic progress checks
• Help students build confidence and mastery

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong background in reading and/or math intervention
• Skilled in differentiated instruction
• Patient, data-driven, and student-centered
• Passionate about helping struggling learners grow

Qualifications (Both Roles)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
• Valid Florida teaching certificate preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in K-8 setting preferred
• Reading or Math endorsement preferred for Interventionist
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Tech comfortable
• CPR certified or willing to obtain

Compensation

• Salary based on experience and qualifications

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Reading or Math Intervention: 1 year (Preferred)
• Teaching: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Florida Teaching Certification (Preferred)
