General Purpose of Position:

Supports the functions of Lake Monticello Owners' Association by interacting with residents to ensure that policies and procedures of the Lake Monticello Owners’ Association are followed. Provides support to the Environmental Control and Compliance Administrator and to the Director of Public Safety.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

· Works with Lake Monticello Owners’ Association’s residents to resolve policy violations.

· Inspects properties for violations and prepares violation notification letters to property owners.

· Follows-up on violations and refers continuous unresolved violations to the Administrator for a Compliance Committee hearing letter.

· Writes and prepares case files for presentation at compliance hearings.

· Attends Compliance Committee and court hearings to represent violation referrals.

Conducts LMOA specific inspection for POAA disclosure packet and inputs information into Home Wise program.

Maintains follow up inspection information for property violations in the NorthStar software.

Assist Administrator as needed.

Completes other tasks and assignments as required to further LMOA operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • There are no positions reporting to him/her.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED.

Experience:

  • Experience working with the public to resolve problems and offer solutions.
  • Experience interpreting, applying, and enforcing policy or regulations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lake Monticello community.

Specific Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skill are a must.
  • Working knowledge of windows-based PC and programs such as Excel and Word are required
  • Ability to learn and apply operational knowledge of LMOA data systems is required.

.Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License and ability to be insured by LMOA carrier.

Abilities:

  • Ability to document detailed incidents in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Above average customer service skills as there are frequent interaction with residents.
  • A personable and professional manner is required for both face-to-face and telephone contact.
  • Ability to keep required documents and information confidential.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must learn and maintain a working knowledge of LMOA policies and the laws of the Commonwealth as they relate to homeowners’ associations.
  • Ability to prepare and present cases for internal hearing and for court proceedings.

Contacts:

  • Frequent and regular contact with LMOA staff and residents.
  • Contact with builders, owners, realtors and other related staff.

Work Environment (inside; outside)

  • Positions requires a combination of office and field work
  • Administrative work typically in community environment.
  • Noise level is low.
  • Visits to locations, traversing uneven terrain and natural and man-made obstructions may be required.

Physical Demands (Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell, lift and weight; vision requirements):

  • Conducts work in various physical positions; i.e. sitting, frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Requires operation of a variety of office machines.

Other Requirements (Work schedule; travel; on call, etc.):

  • Flexible work schedule, to include some nights and weekends as required.
