Louisiana State Nurses Association (LSNA) is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2026.

About LSNA/LNF

LSNA is the professional association for Louisiana’s registered nurses. The mission of LSNA is to foster high standards of practice for RNs and advocate for quality healthcare for Louisiana citizens. The Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF) is a related research, education, and charitable entity and Louisiana Nurses Political Action Coalition (LANPAC) is an affiliate.

Position Description:

The executive directors must be able to work and adapt to adversity and foster relationships with Louisiana registered nurses, the community, public agencies, district nurses’ associations, and the respective boards of LSNA and LNF. Serves as the administrative agent and facilitates the organization's programs and operations.

The Executive Director supports the mission, vision, strategic directions, and bylaws of the LSNA to meet the needs of its members. The Executive Director's work enhances the association's growth, visibility, and status.

Serves as the Executive Director for the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF), the fiduciary agent of the Louisiana Action Coalition. The Executive Director leads the organization, fulfilling the vision set forth by the Board of Trustees.

Qualifications:

Graduate degree in nursing, business, healthcare administration, or public health

Preferred Educational Requirements: Unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nurses License or Compact License to work in the State of Louisiana

Experience: Five or more years in a leadership position with knowledge of nursing practice and healthcare organizations; experience in fundraising, fiscal management, budgeting, and forecasting; strong professional reputation and record of high integrity. Preferred prior work experience in non-profit organizations or associations and health care advocacy.

Special Working Conditions

Must adapt to a flexible schedule, ANA/LSNA Travel both local and national, and respond to last-minute notifications or urgent needs.
