Job Summary:
The Farm Wagon Program Manager oversees mobile pantry operations, ensuring efficient distribution, inventory management, and volunteer leadership. This role involves a mix of office and fieldwork, frequent travel to distribution sites, and physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, and extended standing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the timely and correct handling of all FW paperwork and reports.
  • Create and analyze Excel spreadsheets to monitor operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the onsite manager for mobile pantry locations, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Oversee setup, distribution, and breakdown of mobile pantry distributions.
  • Establish and maintain systems for monitoring and evaluating program performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices, including Board of Health, Feeding America, USDA, and CHFB guidelines.
  • Generate reports and provide insights to the Director of Programs as needed.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Utilize conflict resolution skills to address issues effectively and professionally.
  • Demonstrate a pleasant, professional, and helpful attitude always
  • Work cooperatively with the Transportation Supervisor, Volunteer Manager and other departments as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Commit to understanding and supporting CHFB’s mission; demonstrate compassion and an appreciation for hunger issues.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to pivot quickly when unexpected challenges arise.
  • Assist in other areas of the food bank as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Ensure a neat, clean, and professional appearance always.
  • Maintain reliable transportation and the ability to travel within CHFB’s service area.
  • Work evening and weekend hours as requested.
  • Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Present information to top management, public groups, or others as assigned.
  • Attend local, regional, or national conferences and meetings as requested.
  • Maintain a proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and organization.
  • Work in a wide range of environmental temperatures.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Operate all standard office equipment to include basic computer operation.
  • Consistently bend, twist, climb, reach above shoulders, kneel, squat, sit, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
  • Read and write proficiently in English.
  • Perform basic math skills at a high school level or above.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exhibit excellent oral communication skills.
  • Maintain a pleasant, team-oriented personality with attention to detail.
  • Work overtime and weekends as requested.
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and honesty.
  • Optional pallet jack and forklift experience a plus, but not required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two-year degree in business, human services, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with social service agencies preferred.
  • Obtain or maintain any required licenses or certificates.
