Fertility Nurse Practitioner Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the growing STL Fertility provider team, with direct hands-on responsibilities in patient care including managing IUI cycles; assisting with IVF cycles; and guiding patients through their fertility journey.

Essential Job Functions include:

· Direct patient care through performing ultrasounds on patients and discussing results real time

· Managing intrauterine insemination (IUI cycles) and assisting with IVF cycles

· Performing diagnostic procedures including hysterosalpingography (HSGs) and saline ultrasounds

· Coordinate directly with fertility physicians on all aspects of patient care

· Document accurately all patient care services in current EMR

· Provide patient counseling and education

· Ensure quality and accuracy of information provided to patients

· Review patient charts for medical issues which may require evaluation before proceeding with IVF cycle

· Communicate with all staff, clinical and administrative to provide high quality patient care

· Develop and maintain professional and effective working relationships with all practice physicians and staff

· Actively demonstrate behaviors associated with problem-solving, multi-tasking, and accountability

· Maintain a safe and clean environment

· Adhere to all processes, SOP’s, state, and federal regulations

· Understand and provide cost effective care

· Complete all required trainings as designated

· Maintain active licensure and current certifications as applicable

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree or 2 years relevant job experience (required)

· Experience in women’s health and/or fertility (preferred)

Competencies:

· Excellent bed-side manners

· Technical skills including ultrasounds, IUIs, HSGs (preferred)

· Proficiency with computer systems including EMRs

· Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

· Ability to communicate accurately and concisely

· Adherence to all standards, policies and procedures associated with safety, sanitation, confidentiality, and company operations

Position, Licensure and Certification Requirements:

- Valid Nurse Practitioner license (required) with certification in reproductive or women’s health preferred.

· Current CPR certification, or acquire within 1 month of employment (required)
