Opportunity

Hirsch Solutions is the nation’s leading distributor of commercial embroidery machines. Our team of Field Service Technicians is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment at customers’ locations. This role requires strong electro-mechanical experience, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Technicians will also provide customer training, remote support, and participate in trade shows. Field and factory training will be provided.

Travel Requirements: The first 90 days of this role will consist of extensive travel Monday through Friday for training purposes. The new hire will either be at our Jonesville, NC warehouse or our Huntersville, NC showroom for hands-on training, or traveling onsite throughout the U.S. with senior technicians for ride-alongs and field training. After the initial training period, ongoing travel requirements may vary depending on territory and coverage needs; however, this role will continue to involve extensive travel overall.

Essential Functions

  • Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning skills on medium-duty commercial equipment
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and use them in the troubleshooting and repair process
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Experience with commercial embroidery or digital garment printers is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and support equipment at customer locations
  • Train customers on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance
  • Provide remote support and perform diagnostic analysis to determine if on-site service is required
  • Schedule and prioritize service calls based on customer needs
  • Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs
  • Obtain customer sign-off for completed installations and service work
  • Collaborate with Service & Support teams, Regional Service Management, and Customer Care
  • Participate in trade shows and company events as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

This is a travel-based position working at customer locations, including residential homes, retail shops, and large warehouse environments. Conditions may vary and may not always be climate-controlled.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while servicing equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, and squat as needed
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understand verbal instructions

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with travel required. Overtime may be necessary based on business needs.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays (up to 4 nights per week)
  • Comfortable with air travel and out-of-state assignments
  • Must have reliable transportation

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Technical school training or equivalent experience
  • Experience as a technician (automotive, diesel, HVAC, or commercial machinery repair)
  • Hands-on mechanical or technical experience

Software Knowledge

  • Word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Email and basic data entry
  • Training will be provided on company-specific systems

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to rent a vehicle
  • Ability to manage travel expenses with reimbursement provided
