Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex financial processes to ensure accuracy and integrity across all financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and providing financial analysis to support management decision-making.

Duties

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages
  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
  • Oversee tax compliance, including coordination of federal, state, and local tax filings
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital, providing insights and recommendations to management
  • Ensure internal controls and accounting policies are properly implemented and followed
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and provide in-depth analysis to support strategic decision-making by executive leadership.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate and/or the construction industry
  • Required: Proficiency in financial software such as Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (Timberline); strong technical accounting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and depreciation
  • Proven experience with financial analysis and cash flow management
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Exceptional financial report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail; ability to interpret financial data accurately.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
