Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Foreman/Lineman to lead and execute electrical and telecommunication infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing field crews, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair of power lines, fiber optic cables, and network infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power lines, fiber optic cables, and telecommunication systems.
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, cranes, and power tools safely and efficiently to facilitate construction and service tasks.
- Perform fiber splicing, cabling, and network infrastructure setup including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate project execution.
- Climb utility poles or towers using climbing gear while adhering to safety protocols for high-voltage or low-voltage systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting on IT infrastructure including computer networking issues related to fiber optics, LAN/WAN configurations, and low voltage systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, schematics updates, and incident logs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies throughout every phase of the project.
Skills
- Extensive experience in field service operations within electrical or telecommunication sectors.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation such as bucket trucks, cranes, and power tools.
- Skilled in fiber splicing, cabling techniques, and network infrastructure setup including Ethernet and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Strong knowledge of schematics interpretation for electrical systems and telecommunications layouts.
- Ability to climb poles or towers safely using appropriate climbing gear; familiarity with safety harnesses is essential.
- Experience working with low voltage systems, telephony wiring, IT infrastructure components, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with construction practices related to utility installation projects; ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues related to electrical or network systems promptly.
