Western Wood Preserving Co. is 2nd generation family owned business looking for a forklift operator with at least 2 years of driving industrial forklifts in an outdoor setting, who is seeking long term employment to join our team! Applicants must be able to work independently and efficiently in all weather conditions. We are offering a competitive starting wage, paid time off, medical benefits, and 401k.
Responsibilities:
- Drive large diesel-powered industrial Forklift (6 ton + diesel) to move wood around the facilities, and/or load onto flat deck trucks, trailers and other apparatus.
- Pulling lumber orders accurately, and staging orders to be loaded onto trucks.
- Load flatbed trucks in afternoon/ evening for next day deliveries.
- Safely operates and drives Forklift while controlling the movement of lifting apparatus;
- Inventories materials on work floor, tallies product and maintains stock rotation;
- Performs pre-operational checks on forklifts and reports any and all service and operational concerns;
- Repackages material/units as necessary;
- Maintains work area housekeeping;
- Participates in the quarterly inventory audit.
Physical Requirements
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.
- The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, or kneel
- The employee is also regularly required to sit when operating equipment.
- Regularly use arms and legs to get into and out of forklift multiple times a day.
- Use hands, wrists, and arms to operate forklift and use legs and feet to push forklift pedals.
