Full job description
We are seeking a Front Office Service Advisor who brings energy, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset to our team. In this role, you will be the friendly face and trusted point of contact for our customers.
This is a customer-facing position, ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, staying organized, and working in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Communication
- Greet customers warmly in person and over the phone
- Create a welcoming front office environment that builds trust and loyalty
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance in everyday language
- Provide updates on vehicle status, timelines, and costs
- Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed
- Follow up after service to ensure customer satisfaction
Service Writing & Coordination
- Schedule service and towing appointments
- Dispatch towing and roadside assistance services
- Create repair orders, estimates, and invoices with accurate descriptions and pricing
- Order parts
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize and track repairs such as oil changes, brakes, tires, alignments, suspension work, and diagnostics
- Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records in shop management software
Front Office Operations
- Handle payments and cash transactions accurately and professionally
- Keep the front office organized, efficient, and customer-focused
- Work closely with technicians and parts suppliers to keep jobs moving smoothly
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous customer service experience required
- Automotive service advisor, service writer, or shop front office experience is a plus, but not required
- Basic understanding of automotive maintenance and repairs (willingness to learn is key)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain repairs clearly and confidently
- Comfortable using computers and learning shop software
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Friendly, patient, and professional—even during busy or stressful moments
Pay & Benefits
- Starting pay: $15 per hour, depending on experience
