Full job description

Mdtown Detroit Construction (MDC) is a dynamic construction company in Detroit with a three-pronged community impact mission:

1) Build affordable homes for Detroiters

2) Utilize a workforce consisting of at least 90% minorities on all construction projects.

3) Provide on-the-job training opportunities that strategically prepares employees to obtain a Michigan Residential Builders License for career advancement.

We are looking for individuals that are quick to learn and able to multitask. Individuals must have AT LEAST 4 YEARS of construction experience. Individuals must arrive to work on time, every day.

You must be highly motivated and willing to learn. Must have knowledge of framing, tiling, hanging drywall, and general carpentry.

Skills:

● Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

● Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

● Ability to convey information effectively to others.

Tool Familiarity:

● Carpenters' levels

● Laser levels

● Chain saws

● Circular saws

● Concrete saws

● Floor saws

● Jig saws

● Reciprocating saws

Work hours are from 8am to 4pm Monday thru Friday.
