We support Exploration & Production (E&P), Mineral, Royalty & Non-Operated Asset Management, Midstream, and associated consulting organizations through practical GIS solutions and technical expertise.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated GIS Analyst to join our team and contribute to a wide range of projects supporting oil and gas operations. This role combines GIS data management, spatial analysis, leasehold and right-of-way mapping, Enterprise GIS support, web mapping administration, and map production in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Candidates with direct experience supporting E&P, Mineral & Royalty, Land, or Midstream operations are strongly preferred.
Position Summary
The GIS Analyst will support client projects through GIS data management, spatial analysis, leasehold and right-of-way (ROW) mapping, Enterprise GIS configuration and support, web mapping administration, and map production. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical GIS skills, including experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
Candidates should have experience working with oil and gas datasets and workflows, including leasehold and mineral ownership mapping, right-of-way management, pipeline mapping, and geospatial data maintenance. The ability to translate complex spatial information into clear, accurate, and professional deliverables is essential.
The preferred candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal and client-facing communication skills, capable of independently managing project workloads while maintaining a high level of quality and responsiveness. Experience supporting Exploration & Production (E&P), Mineral & Royalty, Land, or Midstream operations is strongly preferred.
This position will work directly with clients and internal project teams to support operational, regulatory, land, engineering, and business development initiatives throughout the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Perform GIS analysis and data management activities supporting oil and gas operations.
- Create and maintain leasehold, right-of-way, operational, infrastructure, and regulatory mapping products.
- Develop professional map deliverables for technical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Edit, maintain, and validate GIS datasets.
- Support data integration efforts involving surface and subsurface ownership, leasehold, wells, facilities, pipelines, and related energy industry datasets.
- Configure and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments, including web maps, applications, hosted layers, and related content.
- Develop and maintain GIS workflows, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform QA/QC on GIS data and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to identify requirements and develop effective GIS solutions.
- Communicate directly with clients, gather requirements, and manage assigned project workloads.
- Assist with GIS automation and process improvement efforts.
- Document workflows using guides and SOPs.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional GIS experience.
- Strong proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and the Esri technology stack.
- Experience performing GIS analysis, data management, and map production.
- Experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal for ArcGIS) and ArcGIS Online.
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience supporting Oil & Gas Exploration & Production (E&P) operations.
- Direct experience supporting Midstream operations, including pipelines, facilities, and right-of-way management.
- Experience supporting Mineral, Royalty, or Non-Operated Asset Management workflows.
- Experience collaborating with regulatory, environmental, engineering, and land consulting teams.
- Experience working within ArcGIS Enterprise environments, including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise Geodatabases (SDE).
- Experience configuring ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise applications, including Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, and Field Maps.
- Experience with Python scripting, ArcPy, or GIS workflow automation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with energy industry data models, operational datasets, and industry-standard GIS workflows.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
