Full job description
Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator
We are currently seeking a dependable and highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. This position is based out of Sevierville and involves working on job sites throughout the surrounding areas. The role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating excavation and earth-moving equipment while maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate mini and large excavators, skid steers, dozers, and other heavy equipment as required
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and site preparation according to project plans and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade requirements
- Operate equipment effectively on flat, uneven, and steep terrain
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper operation
- Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site procedures
- Work closely with supervisors and crew members to ensure projects are completed on schedule
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site environment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience required
- Proven experience operating excavators, skid steers, and related construction equipment
- Ability to drive dump trucks (CDL preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of excavation methods, grading, and earth-moving practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Dependable transportation
- Reliable attendance with a strong commitment to punctuality and consistency
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 50+ lbs
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation & Schedule
- Starting pay at $24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Full-time position with 40–60 hours per week available
