I & E Construction is a fast-growing, family-owned full service general contractor, currently looking for experienced Civil Construction Heavy Equipment Operators in the Beaverton and Northern I-5 Corridor area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Equipment Operation

Operate heavy equipment of varying sizes and types, including:

  • Excavators
  • Loaders
  • Dozers
  • Scrapers
  • Haul trucks
  • Compactors
  • Perform safe startup, operation, and shutdown of assigned equipment.

Earthwork Operations

  • Perform mass earthwork operations.
  • Load hauling vehicles efficiently and safely.
  • Perform fine grading and finish grading activities.
  • Compact soils and materials to specified requirements.
  • Place materials accurately according to plans and specifications.

Utilities & Mainline Work

  • Excavate trenches for utility installation.
  • Assist with setting pipe and utility structures.
  • Perform shoring processes in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Install appurtenance structures as required.

General Jobsite Duties

  • Follow daily direction and work assignments from the Foreman.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, OSHA, and MSHA standards at all times.
  • Load trucks and maintain correct material quantities.
  • Assist with general labor tasks as needed to support jobsite productivity.
  • Work collaboratively with crew members in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Identify potential mechanical issues and take action to prevent equipment damage.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe and professional work practices at all times.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew members.
  • Take initiative, work hard, and support team success.
  • Participate in training and skill development as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • 1+ year of utility mainline experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening and drug testing.
  • Willingness to follow directions, work hard, and continue learning.
  • Demonstrated competency operating multiple equipment types and fuel systems.
  • Ability to recognize mechanical issues and respond appropriately to prevent further damage.
