HR Manager

SUMMARY:

Yen Press, one of the largest publishers of manga, manhwa, light novels, and original graphic novels in the North American market, is seeking an HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. The HR Manager will perform recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, talent management, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment and selection process.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding activities, including conducting exit interviews and analyzing related data.
• Administer payroll, benefits programs, and HR policies and procedures.
• Facilitate effective internal communication across the organization through email and Bookends updates.
• Manage and enhance the performance appraisal system to support a high-performance culture.
• Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on feedback, performance management, talent development, and employee relations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies, systems, and processes that support organizational goals.
• Recommend HR initiatives and strategic improvements aligned with overall business objectives.
• Maintain accurate organizational charts and reporting analytics.
• Identify training needs and oversee the implementation and evaluation of training programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and HR regulations.
• Plan and manage company events, including happy hours, game nights, seasonal celebrations, and holiday gatherings.
• Oversee office space management, including pantry restocking and coordination with building management for maintenance and facility issues.
• Foster and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Degree or certificate in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Minimum 6 years of experience as HR Manager or other HR position
• Excellent empathetic, interpersonal, and consultative skills
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail, strong follow through, and strategic thinking
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs particularly in Excel
• Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
