HVAC Installer & Troubleshooter Job DescriptionThis describes a role where individuals are responsible for installing new HVAC systems and diagnosing/resolving issues with existing ones. Duties and Responsibilities
- Installing new HVAC systems in residential and commercial settings, adhering to blueprints, specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Performing diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify electrical and mechanical malfunctions in HVAC units, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, etc.
- Repairing or replacing faulty components, connecting electrical wiring, and ensuring system compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating parts, and replacing filters.
- Testing systems and components to confirm proper function after installation or repair, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Communicating effectively with customers to explain system issues, repair options, and provide guidance on maintenance and usage.
- Maintaining detailed records of work performed, materials used, and service calls, documenting all interactions and actions taken.
- Providing support and potentially guidance to junior technicians or apprentices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including installation procedures, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation.
- Knowledge and adherence to safety protocols and relevant building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities to efficiently identify and resolve system issues.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Customer service and communication skills for interacting professionally with clients.
- Physical stamina to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and potentially lifting heavy equipment.
- Relevant certifications and licenses as required by the local jurisdiction (e.g., EPA certification for handling refrigerants).

Pay: $22.00 - $30.96 per hour
