Position Overview

The IT Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Censys Technologies’ information technology infrastructure. This role ensures that all systems, applications, hardware, and networks operate securely, efficiently, and reliably. The IT Manager leads and develops IT policies, manages budgets, and collaborates with leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Systems Management

  • Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy to support business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial.
  • Plan and oversee system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain servers, networks, cloud environments, and business applications.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical systems.
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and manage cybersecurity policies, tools, and procedures.
  • Monitor for security risks, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
  • Support compliance with customer and industry cybersecurity requirements, including NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, and related standards as applicable to commercial and government contracts.

Cross-Functional Support & Operations

  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure efficient delivery of outsourced services.
  • Oversee help desk operations and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Provide technical expertise to other departments and leadership teams.
  • Develop documentation, guidelines, and training materials for users.
  • Partner with engineering to support secure development, testing, and deployment environments.
  • Support secure handling and storage of flight data and customer deliverables.
  • Assist with customer security questionnaires, audits, and contractual IT requirements.

Budgeting & Resource Management

  • Create, manage, and optimize the IT budget.
  • Track asset inventory and ensure proper lifecycle management of hardware and software.
  • Recommend cost-effective solutions and technology investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in IT systems administration or IT management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, server environments, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and endpoint management.
  • Proven experience managing IT projects from design through implementation.
  • Experience maintaining cybersecurity best practices and security monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, or SOC 2 preferred.
  • Experience supporting software development environments is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, engineering-focused environment.

Nice to Have

  • Security+, CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications.
  • Experience in aerospace, robotics, UAS, or advanced technology industries.
  • Experience supporting government or defense-adjacent contracts.
  • Knowledge of secure DevOps and cloud-native security tooling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
