Join Our Mission to Advance Animal Health
Are you detail-oriented, dependable, and excited to support scientific innovation? Addison Biological Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support several key departments—including our Media Lab, Production, Quality Control, and Antigen Production teams.
In this dynamic role, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of biological product development. From preparing growth media and supporting pinkeye vaccine production to assisting with safety testing and laboratory sanitation, your contributions will directly support the health and safety of animals through high-quality, science-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Media Lab
- Clean, wrap, sterilize, and prepare labware for production
- Produce and sterilize media per internal protocols
- Support bottling processes and serve as a USDA-authorized sampler
- Monitor and operate the lab’s steam boiler system
Production
- Sterilize commercial tanks and prepare disinfectants (formalin, alcohol)
- Maintain cleanliness in mouse rooms and clean rooms
- Stock PPE and supplies weekly in designated production areas
- Assist with cleanroom setup for bottling and antigen preparation
Quality Control
- Provide humane care and ethical handling of laboratory mice
- Perform weekly chart changes and monthly RO water testing
- Maintain QC supply inventory and storage
Antigen Production
- Support pinkeye antigen production and perform monthly weekend lab checks
General Duties
- Uphold company SOPs and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records and support administrative tasks
- Embrace teamwork and contribute to a clean, organized lab environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary science coursework a plus
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Comfortable working with animals and biological materials
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
- Capable of standing, lifting, and moving materials safely
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and ethical lab practices

- Full-time daytime schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM and Friday, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
