ABOUT ALASKA SAFETY ALLIANCE:
The Alaska Safety Alliance (ASA) is dedicated to fostering a highly skilled and safe workforce to meet the demands of Alaska’s diverse industries. As a nonprofit, member-based organization, we partner with employers to support workforce development through training, education, and industry collaboration.
A core part of our work is delivering and managing standardized safety and workforce training programs, including through our digital Learning & Compliance Management System (LCMS), ASAOnline. Our goal is to ensure training is accessible, consistent, and aligned with industry needs across Alaska.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Learning Systems Specialist serves as the internal expert for ASAOnline, ASA’s Learning & Compliance Management System (LCMS). This role combines system administration, customer support, and continuous improvement to ensure a seamless and effective experience for both internal staff and external users.
This position is responsible for configuring and maintaining online training courses, troubleshooting system issues, supporting clients and members, and contributing to ongoing improvements of the platform. The Learning Systems Specialist works closely with team members across the organization and plays a key role in supporting ASA’s training delivery and workforce development mission.
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Learning System Administration & Optimization – Own the configuration, functionality, and continuous improvement of ASAOnline to ensure it effectively supports training delivery and compliance needs.
User Support & Customer Experience – Deliver high-quality support to internal staff, member organizations, and end users, ensuring a seamless and positive experience with the LCMS.
Training Program Delivery & Operations – Support the successful execution of training programs by managing workflows, system processes, and program requirements within the LCMS.
Client Engagement & Solutions Development – Work with clients and stakeholders to understand training and compliance needs and recommend effective system-based solutions.
Quality Control & Process Improvement – Develop, maintain, and improve standardized processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across system use and training delivery.
Reporting & Data Support – Support data tracking, reporting, and insights to meet organizational, client, and compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Organizational Support – Contribute to cross-functional projects, system enhancements, and organizational initiatives that support ASA’s mission and growth.
KEY DUTIES:
- Configure, maintain, and enhance LCMS courses and training programs, including managing workflows for enrollment, testing, certification, and program requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including monitoring and managing support tickets and communicating status updates
- Maintain content quality and consistency by enforcing publication standards and developing/updating standard operating procedures and documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to test, launch, and improve courses, system functionality, and user experience
- Generate reports and support data collection and analysis for training, compliance, and organizational needs
- Provide system demonstrations, training sessions, and webinars for staff, members, and clients
- Engage with clients to assess training needs, recommend appropriate LCMS solutions, and support proposal development
- Contribute to system enhancements, course development, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support team operations, business processes, and organizational goals, including taking on special projects as needed
What you’ll bring to the job:
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external partners
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS/LCMS), or a willingness and aptitude to learn quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create reports and use formulas/functions to improve efficiency
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive, can-do approach to problem solving
- An interest in workforce development, training, or safety programs (experience is a plus)
- Previous experience in a nonprofit or member-based organization is desirable
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
